 Portrait Drawing Workshop (4 days)

Dates: 2018 TBA

Time: 9.15am – 1pm (each day)

This portrait workshop is suitable for both beginners and more experienced artists and will cover a variety of techniques necessary to draw an image and achieve a likeness to the model. Observations will create an understanding of the proportions of the head and recognition of the rhythms and shapes in the facial features of different individuals. Approaches for varying head positions and foreshortening will also be explored.

Portrait Drawing Term (6 weeks, one session each week)TBA

                                                               Mondays 2pm to 5pm. This class is for students to progress who have completed a                                                           Portrait Drawing workshop.


Life Drawing Term (6 weeks, one session per week) TBA

Time: Mondays 2-5pm

Dates:March   (these terms are held twice yearly)

Suitable for raw beginners to more experienced artists. Rapid gesture to more extended poses encourage the student to develop different ways of looking to make drawing practices easier. A shape and space oriented approach combined with a wide variety of different models and small classes gives maximum opportunity to extend your drawing practice. 


Intensive Watercolour Workshop – Stage I - (5 days)

Dates: Monday 6th to Friday .. Early 2018 TBA

Time: 9.15am – 2 pm (each day) Monday to Friday  

This 5-day workshop will cover the foundation areas of watercolour materials and techniques, as well as composition and colour mixing. Pigment groups and colour compatibility will be dealt with to enable you to understand the mixing of clean colours. This workshop is designed for both beginners and watercolourists with some experience.

Workshops in Painting the Nude in Watercolour, Outdoor Landscape Painting, Still Life Painting and Composing and Painting from Photographs
Workshops covering these areas are available to students who have completed the previous 5-Day (Stage I) Watercolour Workshop listed above.

Casual Tuesdays painting are held second weekly. Beginning February. More information on these classes is available on enquiry.
